MARITIME
When VOKA was a teenager, every year in his vacation he traveld south. He loves the originality of the landscape, the beneficial climate, but above all the life-affirming and hospitable mentality of the Mediterranean people. But above all, his heart beats for Greece. Here he found his second home. Here he realized his dream and settled. His house and studio are located on the Peloponnes, in the idyllic village of Koroni. This cosy village full of nooks and crannies, with its little harbour is an almost limitless source of artistic inspiration for him. All his paintings with Mediterranean subjects he creates in his studio here at the Zaga Beach.
Bereits als Jugendlicher - damals noch als Tramper mit Rucksack – hat es VOKA in seinen Schulferien immer in den Süden gezogen hat. Er liebt die Ursprünglichkeit der Landschaft, das wohltuende mediterrane Klima, aber vor allem die lebensbejahende und gastfreundliche Mentalität der Südländer. Besonders Griechenland hat es ihm angetan. Hier hat er seine zweite Heimat gefunden. Hier hat er sich seinen Traum erfüllt und sich auf dem Peloponnes niedergelassen. Sein Haus und das Atelier befinden sich im idyllischen Ort Koroni, dessen Gassen und der kleinen Fischerhafer eine schier grenzenlose Quelle der künstlerischen Inspiration für ihn birgt. Werke mit mediterranen Sujets entstehen ausnahmslos in seinem Atelier am Zaga Strand.
